The 3×3m pergola defines the viewing area, the privacy blinds help reduce surrounding distractions and the included heater makes cooler evenings more comfortable.

A 100-inch screen provides a genuine big-screen experience, while the two high-backed bean bags create relaxed seating without the weight or permanence of a full outdoor sofa arrangement.

It is particularly well suited to couples, young families and smaller patios where every part of the footprint needs to serve a purpose.

Your private garden screen room

The aluminium pergola creates a defined entertainment space rather than leaving the cinema equipment exposed on an open patio.

Adjustable roof louvres help you manage shelter and light during the day. Pull-down blinds on three sides provide additional privacy and can help reduce some surrounding light once the evening begins.

The integrated heater extends the usable season beyond warm summer nights, while built-in LED roof lighting provides practical ambient illumination before the film starts and during breaks.

For the clearest projected picture, the roof lights should be dimmed or switched off while viewing.

The TCL Projector C1

At the centre of the bundle is the TCL Projector C1, a compact smart projector with Google TV built in.

It produces a native 1920 × 1080 Full HD image and can accept supported 4K source content. Its projection range supports images from approximately 40 inches up to 120 inches, making it suitably matched to the included 100-inch screen.

The projector includes a fully sealed optical engine and a high-transmittance coated lens, helping protect the internal optical system from ordinary dust during indoor use and storage.

Smart streaming with Google TV

Google TV brings compatible streaming services and viewing recommendations together through one interface.

The TCL C1 is Google TV and Netflix certified, removing the need to connect a separate streaming stick for many common services.

Depending on service availability, you can access films, television, music and video applications directly through the projector.

A reliable Wi-Fi connection, Google account and any required paid streaming subscriptions are not included with the bundle.

Availability of individual applications and programmes can change according to the service provider and your location.

Full HD picture with 4K support

The TCL C1 projects at a native Full HD resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels.

This provides substantially more image detail than a basic 720p projector, particularly when displaying subtitles, faces, sport and menu text across the large screen.

The projector can process supported 4K content, but the image itself is displayed at the projector’s native 1080p resolution. It should not be described as a native 4K projector.

TCL’s TrueHue picture processing adjusts aspects of brightness, contrast, sharpness and colour, while selectable picture modes include:

Designed for evening viewing

The TCL C1 has a stated brightness of 230 ISO lumens.

This makes it best suited to dark or substantially shaded viewing conditions. For garden cinema use, the strongest results will normally be achieved after sunset or once the surrounding space is sufficiently dark.

The pergola and blinds can reduce some surrounding light, but they will not make the projector suitable for bright daytime viewing.

Street lighting, neighbouring lights, open sides and the pergola’s LED lighting can all reduce image contrast. The screen should therefore be positioned in the darkest practical part of the pergola.

Automatic picture setup

The projector includes several automatic setup features designed to make temporary cinema arrangements easier.

These include:

The projector can detect the available viewing area and adjust the picture to create a clearer, more rectangular image.

The best picture will still be achieved when the projector is centred and level with the screen. Heavy digital correction can reduce the usable image size and may slightly affect clarity.

Flexible projector positioning

An integrated carrying handle and adjustable gimbal allow the projection angle to be changed without a separate tilting bracket.

The gimbal can rotate through approximately 285 degrees, providing flexibility when positioning the projector on a stable table, shelf or projector stand.

The projector should always be placed on a secure surface where it cannot be knocked over, exposed to rain or reached by trailing cables.

Built-in Dolby Audio

An integrated 8W speaker provides sound directly from the projector.

Dolby Audio processing is designed to improve dialogue and general clarity, making the included speaker suitable for casual film nights without requiring a separate audio system.

As this is the Essentials package, the projector’s internal speaker is the primary sound source.

Performance will depend on the viewing environment. Wind, neighbouring noise, conversation and the open side of the pergola may make the sound feel quieter than it would indoors.

The projector also supports Bluetooth and a 3.5mm audio output, allowing a compatible external speaker or audio system to be added later.

The 100-inch TOWOND cinema screen

The bundle includes a freestanding TOWOND 100-inch projector screen with a widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio.

Its large viewing surface gives films, sporting events and games a more immersive scale than projecting onto a wall or pergola blind.

The screen material is designed to support both front and rear projection, although front projection will normally be the simplest arrangement within a 3×3m pergola.

The complete stand measures approximately 221cm wide and 196cm high when assembled. Exact measurements and the amount of surrounding clearance should be checked before the layout is finalised.

Screen stability and wind

A freestanding projection screen presents a large surface area to the wind.

The supplied stabilising ropes, anchors and weighting accessories must therefore be used as appropriate for the installation surface and conditions.

The screen should not be used in strong, gusting or unsafe weather. Pull-down pergola blinds may reduce some airflow, but they do not remove the risk of the screen moving or overturning.

The screen and stand should be dismantled and stored securely after use rather than left permanently assembled beneath the pergola.

Two Dalton recliner bean bags

The bundle includes two Bean Bag Bazaar Dalton recliner bean bags.

Each seat has a raised, structured back and a spacious seating area designed to provide more support than an unshaped floor cushion.

Their lightweight filling means the seats can be repositioned easily for films, gaming, reading or general garden use.

Each bean bag measures approximately:

Bean-filled products settle and change shape during use, so finished dimensions may vary slightly.

Water-resistant rather than waterproof

The Dalton bean bags are made with water-resistant, wipe-clean fabric.

They can cope with ordinary light rain and minor drink spills, but they are not fully waterproof garden furniture and should not be left permanently outdoors.

The bean bags should be stored indoors or in a suitable dry storage location when not being used.

They should also be brought inside during prolonged rain, strong winds, winter weather or periods when the pergola is not in use.

Blankets and outdoor rug

Two outdoor blankets provide additional warmth when the temperature falls, while the rug helps visually define the seating area and creates a softer surface beneath the bean bags.

The heater, blankets and rug work together to make the cinema feel like a finished garden room rather than a temporary projector setup.

The blankets and rug should be kept dry and stored indoors after use unless the specifications supplied with your chosen items expressly permit permanent outdoor storage.

Planning the cinema layout

A nominal 3×3m pergola requires careful layout planning when accommodating a 100-inch screen and two adult bean bags.

The usable internal area will be smaller than the external pergola dimensions because of:

• Pergola posts

• Structural frame components

• Blind mechanisms

• The integrated heater

• Fixing plates

• Required access clearances

The screen should ideally be positioned across one of the 3m sides, leaving enough clearance for the screen structure and blind mechanisms.

The projector must then be positioned at the appropriate distance to create the required image size.

With a throw ratio of approximately 1.27:1, projecting a full 100-inch 16:9 image will require approximately 2.8 metres between the projector lens and screen.

That distance may be difficult to achieve entirely within a 3×3m pergola once the screen, projector body and posts are considered.

Depending on the precise internal dimensions, the projector may need to be positioned close to the opposite boundary of the pergola, behind the seating or immediately outside the structure.

Digital screen resizing can be used to create a smaller image when the full 100-inch projection distance is unavailable.

Please send us accurate measurements or a rough layout before ordering if you would like help assessing whether a full 100-inch image can be achieved in your proposed position.

Power and connectivity

The projector, heater and roof lighting must be used in accordance with their respective manufacturer instructions.

The installation should provide:

• A suitable RCD-protected electrical supply

• Safe separation between electrical equipment and wet areas

• Outdoor-rated sockets where applicable

• Protected cable routes

• No trip hazards across entrances or seating areas

• Adequate Wi-Fi coverage for streaming

Any new outdoor socket or fixed electrical work should be completed by a competent electrician.

Extension leads should only be used where appropriate for the appliance, environment and electrical load. Domestic indoor extension blocks must not be left exposed outdoors.

Weather protection

The projector is a consumer electronic product and should not be treated as weatherproof.

It must be protected from:

• Wind-driven moisture

• Damp surfaces

• Extreme temperatures

• Direct contact with the pergola heater

• Overnight outdoor storage

A louvred pergola and privacy blinds do not create a fully sealed or waterproof indoor room.

The projector, screen fabric, bean bags, blankets and rug should be moved into suitable dry storage after use.

Installation

Installation is not included as standard unless specifically stated in your order.

Pergola assembly will normally require at least two capable adults, suitable tools and a properly prepared, solid and level base.

The cinema equipment is portable and does not require permanent audiovisual installation. However, the screen must be assembled and stabilised correctly, and the projector must be positioned securely with suitable access to power and Wi-Fi.
