Instead of leaving the barbecue isolated on the patio, the bundle creates a more considered garden setting where cooking, serving and dining can happen within one coordinated area.

Your outdoor kitchen and dining room

The aluminium pergola defines the dining area as a dedicated outdoor room.

Adjustable roof louvres help you control light and shelter, while pull-down blinds on three sides provide additional privacy from neighbouring gardens and exposed boundaries.

Built-in LED roof lighting illuminates the table after sunset, allowing meals and conversation to continue without relying on temporary garden lamps.

The integrated heater helps make the dining area more comfortable when the evening temperature falls.

The heater and barbecue must not be operated in positions where their heat zones, ventilation requirements or manufacturer clearances conflict.

CosmoGrill Original 4+1 Gas Barbecue

The cooking centre of the bundle is the CosmoGrill Original 4+1 Gas Barbecue.

It combines four main burners with a separate side burner, giving you the flexibility to grill meat and vegetables while preparing sauces, sides or accompaniments at the same time.

Each burner can be controlled separately, allowing different temperature zones to be created across the cooking surface.

The barbecue has a stated total output of approximately 9.3kW and a cooking area of approximately 1,952cm². The retailer markets it as suitable for cooking for groups of up to approximately ten people, depending on the food being prepared.

Four main cooking burners

The four stainless-steel main burners allow the cooking area to be divided into different heat zones.

This makes it possible to:

• Use indirect heat with selected burners switched off

Flame tamers sit above the burners to help protect them from grease and distribute heat across the grilling area.

It can be used to keep cooked food warm, lightly toast bread or move food away from the strongest direct heat.

The lid incorporates a temperature gauge, allowing the internal cooking temperature to be monitored without repeatedly opening the barbecue.

Integrated barbecue storage

The CosmoGrill includes an enclosed lower shelf with doors, providing convenient storage for selected pans, condiments and barbecue accessories.

Only suitable non-flammable items should be stored inside the barbecue cabinet.

Do not store spare gas cylinders, combustible materials, aerosols or cleaning chemicals inside or close to the appliance unless the manufacturer’s instructions expressly permit it.

Critical barbecue positioning requirements

The gas barbecue is an outdoor combustion appliance and must only be operated in a properly ventilated open-air position.

The manufacturer’s manual states that it must be positioned at least one metre away from flammable materials and placed on a flat, non-flammable surface.

A louvred pergola with pull-down blinds should not automatically be treated as a safe barbecue enclosure.

Before lighting the barbecue:

• Fully open the roof louvres

• Raise all privacy blinds

• Maintain unrestricted airflow around the barbecue

• Keep the barbecue away from pergola posts and blinds

• Maintain the manufacturer’s required clearance from combustible materials

• Keep the barbecue away from the integrated heater

• Keep the gas hose away from hot surfaces and walkways

• Do not allow smoke or heat to accumulate beneath the roof

• Never leave the lit barbecue unattended

Depending on the exact pergola material, roof height and internal dimensions, the barbecue may need to be moved to the open edge of the pergola or completely outside the structure while it is being used.

The pergola can still provide a sheltered dining room, even where the barbecue itself must be operated immediately outside it.

Gas requirements

The barbecue must be used only with the gas type, regulator, hose and cylinder arrangement specified in the manufacturer’s instructions.

Before every use:

• Inspect the hose for cracks, wear or heat damage

• Check that all connections are secure

• Perform the manufacturer’s recommended leak test

• Keep the gas cylinder upright

• Keep the cylinder away from heat

• Turn off the gas supply after cooking

• Never test for gas leaks using a naked flame

A gas cylinder and fuel are not included unless specifically stated in the order confirmation.

Planning the complete layout

A 3×3m pergola is a compact space for a barbecue, table, four chairs and a separate cabinet.

The nominal pergola dimensions represent its external footprint. The clear internal space will be reduced by:

It may not be practical or safe to keep every component permanently positioned entirely beneath the pergola.

Suggested operating layout

For many gardens, the most practical setup will be:

1. Position the dining table beneath the centre or rear section of the pergola.

2. Place the storage cabinet against a suitable dry side, without obstructing the blinds.

3. Keep a clear route between the house, table and garden.

4. Move the barbecue to the fully open front edge or outside the pergola before lighting it.

5. Fully open the roof and raise the blinds during cooking.

6. Allow the barbecue to cool completely before covering or repositioning it.

Base and installation requirements

The pergola, barbecue, cabinet and furniture must be placed on a stable and level base.

Suitable surfaces may include correctly installed:

• Concrete

• Level paving

• Suitable reinforced decking

• Other non-combustible prepared surfaces

Grass, loose gravel, uneven paving or soft ground may not provide adequate stability for the pergola or wheeled barbecue.

The pergola must be securely fixed in accordance with its manufacturer’s wind-loading and foundation requirements.

Electrical requirements

The pergola lighting and integrated heater require a suitable electrical supply.

Any new outdoor sockets or fixed electrical connections should be installed by a competent electrician.

The installation should provide:

• Suitable RCD protection

• Outdoor-rated connections where required

• Protection from rain and standing water

• Safe cable routing

• Adequate electrical capacity

• Separation from the barbecue and gas cylinder

• No trip hazards around the table or entrance

Do not route electrical cables behind or beneath the barbecue where they could be exposed to heat, grease or movement.

Heater and barbecue use

The pergola heater is intended to improve comfort around the dining area.

It should not be used to compensate for closing the roof or lowering the blinds while the barbecue is operating.

When cooking, the barbecue’s ventilation and heat-clearance requirements take priority.

Do not operate the heater where it directs heat towards:

• Diners at unsafe proximity

Installation

Installation is not included as standard unless specifically stated in your order.

Our pergolas are supplied as self-assembly metal pergola kits. Pergola assembly will normally require:

• Two to three capable adults

• A correctly prepared solid and level base

• Suitable tools

• Accurate measurement and levelling

• Secure mechanical fixing

The barbecue, dining furniture and storage cabinet are supplied as separate products and may each require assembly.

All components must be assembled and operated according to their respective manufacturer instructions.

Because the bundle contains products from several manufacturers, it will arrive in more than one delivery. Components may:
